It’s not easy, and I’ll be the first to admit it

If you’ve visited my website, heard that I retired at 39, or if it’s your first time meeting me, you may assume that success has come easy for me.  You may think I got lucky, I never made mistakes, it happened over night… or you may even think it came easy.

It’s not easy, and I’ll the first to admit it.

I know all too well what it’s like to struggle with a business. I used to rub my company logo on cheap proposal folders, because I couldn’t afford nice brochures. I borrowed cars from friends so I could take clients out in something better than my old beater. Because I owned only one suit, I scheduled meetings so I’d never see the same people two days in a row. I parked at airport hotels and snuck through the side door to catch the free shuttle bus, because I couldn’t pay for airport parking. I also know what it means to work twelve hours a day, seven days a week, sacrificing time that could be spend with family or friends and sitting in the office at 3 a.m. beating myself up over a mistake.

It’s not easy. But you gotta admit, that’s why we love it so much.  Welcome to my blog.  Let’s learn and grow together.
